OKR experimentation
We have been piloting OKR in the digital technology team for the past three quarters. It is a lot more complex than the trait theory, certainly not a plug-and-play.
There are many interesting challenges that we are still trying hard to figure out the right way to make it work for us. Some are in our organizational system; some are in our structure; some are related to the nature of the works; some might require further changes to be triggered.
Nevertheless, I find many “a-ha” moments reading this short “fable” from Christina Wodtke. There are many practical takeaways like Monday Commitments, a four-square chart, and connecting company business objectives with service department OKRs, many of which are the missing pieces in our implementation. Though I am not sure how this will turn out, the pilot itself is an inspiring BHAG which we will surely learn and share a lot from in this experiment.
